Expert and participant feedback drives the improvement of the Project Management curriculum

The quality and practical relevance of the new Project Management Modules have been supported by a validation process combining the experience of project management professionals with feedback from participants involved in the pilot.

The competency framework was assessed through a survey of 11 project management professionals and a focus group involving five faculty members with experience in European Union-funded projects.

The findings showed strong agreement regarding the relevance, comprehensiveness, and practical applicability of the proposed competencies. The validation also confirmed that the framework was coherent and logically organised and that it could support training needs assessment and capacity development.

The process continued with the curriculum pilot, involving five participants from the intended target group. In addition to assessing learning outcomes, the pilot provided direct feedback on participants’ experience with the training materials.

Participants highlighted the value of incorporating additional practical exercises, locally relevant examples and case studies, as well as allowing sufficient time to apply project management tools.

This feedback was used to refine and adapt the curriculum before its wider implementation by Palestinian partner institutions.

The process reflects a continuous-improvement approach in which the experience of experts, academics, and learners contributes to ensuring that the materials better respond to the real needs of people working and learning in project management.

The curriculum has also been developed in alignment with applicable institutional educational and quality-assurance frameworks. As part of the institutional validation process, it is scheduled to be reviewed by the Department of Continuing Education at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK), following which the corresponding declaration of institutional approval, endorsement, and recognition will be issued.
